Anchor Marine of Grand Island Sold to Local Investment Group

Grand Island’s Anchor Marine complex, located at 1501 Ferry Road, has been sold to Robert Mikulec through his Anchor Marine Group, LLC affiliate.

Anchor Marine has been a family-owned business and a mainstay of the boating community in Western New York for over 48 years. Situated on a prime waterfront location along the Niagara River and adjacent to the Buffalo Launch Club, the site encompasses 27.7 acres, including 11 buildings and over 100 boat slips.

In addition to slips and seasonal storage, Anchor Marine sells new and pre-owned inventory as an authorized Bayliner, Harris, Honda, Lund, Mercury Marine®, Monterey, Wellcraft, and Sea-Doo dealership. Per Mikulec’s comments to Buffalo Business First, his investment group will utilize ideas from other marinas to renovate and upgrade Anchor Marina to make it a destination on the Niagara River.

The sale closed on September 1st under undisclosed terms and included the entities of both the business (RW Weaver Corporation) and real estate holding company (CMW Holdings, LLC). Nicholas Corto of HUNT Commercial Real Estate in Buffalo brokered the real estate side of the deal.

“This was a challenging and ultimately rewarding deal for all involved that required significant experience, analytical ability, and commercial knowledge,” commented Robert McDonnell, Chief Operating Officer of HUNT Commercial. “We are fortunate to have Nick Corto and his talent for navigating the complexities of this business, and this type of transaction, as one of our seasoned sales professionals representing HUNT.”

Corto is licensed as a commercial agent for HUNT Commercial Real Estate and as a residential agent for HUNT Real Estate ERA.
