With over 45 years of experience in commercial real estate, Alan T. Hastings is a seasoned professional specializing in retail, office, industrial, restaurant, and investment property sales and leasing throughout Buffalo and Upstate New York. Alan began his career in 1978 with Berlow Real Estate and later joined Saperston Real Estate before co-founding Hastings Cohn Real Estate in 1997. In a significant milestone, Alan merged his firm with HUNT Commercial Real Estate, forming the Hastings Group within the company. Alan holds a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Business Studies from the State University of New York College at Buffalo. Over the course of his career, he has brokered more than 4 million square feet of commercial real estate, with sales and lease transactions exceeding $300 million in value. A respected leader in the industry, Alan served as the President of the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors (NYSCAR) and earned recognition for completing the largest sales transaction among his peers in 2007. He has also been named a LoopNet Power Broker multiple times. Alan’s extensive client portfolio includes notable organizations such as Acquest Development, Benderson Development, Tim Hortons, Dinosaur Barbeque, Uniland Development, Benchmark Development and Dollar General, among many others. His proven track record includes successfully marketing commercial properties and representing tenants and buyers in complex transactions. Beyond real estate, Alan is actively involved in the community, with affiliations that include the Buffalo Renaissance Foundation, The Sportsmen’s Americana Foundation, and Wanakah Country Club. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, traveling, attending concerts, exercising, and playing guitar. Alan attributes his start in commercial real estate to his early work ethic, which impressed a neighbor who encouraged him to pursue brokerage straight out of college.
