As a dually licensed New York State Real Estate Salesperson with HUNT Commercial and HUNT Real Estate, RJ Rubino brings over 15 years of diverse industry experience to the organization.
His real estate career began while earning a degree in Finance from the University at Buffalo, where he gained early exposure to the industry through his work with GAR Appraisal and in site selection for real estate developers. Since graduating, RJ has built a well-rounded background spanning real estate investment trusts (REITs), brokerage, development, construction, appraisal, finance, management, and consulting.
Coming from a Buffalo real estate family with over a century of combined experience, RJ was truly born into the business. His father, Ron Rubino, President of GAR Appraisal, is an MAI-designated appraiser with more than four decades of property valuation expertise, while his uncles, Joe and John Rubino, are accomplished real estate brokers and home builders who have completed thousands of transactions throughout Western New York since the 1970s. From a young age, RJ had the privilege of learning from their example and gaining firsthand exposure from some of the best in the real estate industry—an influence that continues to guide his work today.
Working downtown and seeing Buffalo’s City Hall every day reminds RJ that he’s not just working for himself, but for the betterment of a city his family has called home for five generations. RJ is passionate about deal-making and thrives on tackling challenging projects. The larger and more complex the deal, the more he can draw upon a lifetime of knowledge, experience, and vision for real estate development. It’s deeply rewarding to create positive outcomes for business owners, property investors, and the Buffalo community as a whole.
Outside of real estate, RJ is equally passionate about giving back through athletics and mentorship. After nearly a decade of coaching, he founded the Buffalo Rowing Club, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing competitive rowing. Through this work, RJ is fortunate to be able to mentor high school and college athletes, helping them develop both on and off the water.
