Robert McDonnell Appointed President of HUNT Commercial Real Estate Corporation

HUNT Commercial Real Estate Corp. has announced the appointment of Robert G. McDonnell as its fifth President since its founding in 1911. McDonnell will be responsible for the overall management, strategic initiatives, business development, and multi-state growth of the commercial real estate organization, including the commercial property management arm, HUNT Property Solutions. McDonnell has served as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer since 2019 and has been instrumental in leading HUNT Commercial to record year-over-year revenue growth, recruiting efforts, and operational efficiencies.

McDonnell was initially recruited to HUNT Commercial in the early 1990s, where he learned the complexities of commercial real estate from seasoned real estate experts including then-Chairman of the Board, C. Stuart Hunt and then-president Stephen N. Hunt. After his initial three years at HUNT Commercial, McDonnell then spent nearly 20 years at a highly regarded commercial real estate development firm before returning to HUNT Commercial in 2019.

“Bob is simply the best man for the job,” said Peter F. Hunt, HUNT Real Estate Corporation Chairman and CEO. “As we look to the future and the challenges facing commercial real estate across our country, it will take someone possessing Bob’s talents and skills to identify opportunities, grow the business, and build on our leadership position in the industry.”

McDonnell’s experience includes all aspects of commercial real estate, including business development and operations, contract negotiations, property management, and construction. To date, McDonnell has been involved in over 450 real estate transactions with a total value in excess of 1.2 Billion dollars. Notable clients include Key Success LLC, Ciminelli Properties, First Niagara Bank and Key Bank.

McDonnell holds the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) accreditation and a bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University.
